Dev by choice, admin, just because

Some years back, out IT group rightsized our one actual admin out the door, moved Notes from an enterprise package to 'something for those guys in NH who use it', and gave me the admin job in addition to my primary dev role. Because we were mostly running inside the firewall and don't use Notes for mail, it was possible to leave the system stable for long periods of time and not sweat FPs or versions.

We eventually got permission to put a web facing server up and for the longest time it pretty much just ran itself. This whole SHA and Poodle mess have dragged me into doing actual admin work as well as needing to plan for an upgrade.

It's all good but is frustrating for me because I just never learned this part of the job.
